The ‘Screened Out Without Mitigation, Returning Equality In Northern Ireland To The Margins’ report launch is taking place on Friday 27 June at 10:30 in Room 115, Parliament Buildings.

The report, authored by independent researcher Dr Robbie McVeigh, examines the effectiveness of the Section 75 equality duty and use of the ‘Call-In’ mechanism in the way they are operationalised within Northern Ireland’s 11 local councils.

The report launch, sponsored by Paula Bradshaw MLA, will feature a presentation from Dr. McVeigh on the report’s findings. There will also be a panel discussion on the report’s findings chaired by Patricia McKeown (UNISON) and followed by a Q&A, featuring:

  • Conchúr Ó Muadaigh, Conradh na Gaeilge
  • Elaine Crory, Women’s Resource and Development Agency
  • John Patrick Clayton, UNISON
  • Becca Bor, Northern Ireland Anti-Poverty Network

Lunch will be served at the end of the event.
